Religious festival very much felt by the citizens, very old, in fact for many years now, the streets of Capurso for the occasion dressed in their Sunday best, is dragged by force of arms, a kind of wagon decorated with flowers and lights, with three overlapping planes on which they take place the band, the statue of the Madonna and a group of monks of the monastery with the church that have been erected, in Capurso, thanks to the votes of Don Domenico Tanzella.

It is said that back in 1705 Don Domenico Tanzella, priest of Capurso, due to a bad bad was now dying. One night, Our Lady appeared to him and said that if he drank water from the well called "Santa Maria", located in the resort Piscino (half a mile from the town), to the right of the road that leads to Noicattaro, and vowed to erect a church dedicated to her, with the adjacent convent of the Franciscan friars, would be immediately cured. In fact, Don Domenico drank that water and healed.
Following his recovery, exactly August 30, the priest himself down into the well and saw a beautiful image of the Virgin Mary in greek-Byzantine style that broke away alone from the wall and ended up in his arms; the miracle continued ...
This beautiful icon can be seen in the characteristic church made precisely erect, with the convent, by Don Domenico Tanzella.


Music, gastronomic stands and fireworks can hardly miss a festival of such importance to so many devotees of Our Lady.
