The Feast of St. Nicholas of Bari is held annually in May. The solemn religious and civil celebrations scheduled throughout the month in honor of the saint. In particular, 7 to 9 May the city relives the event of the transfer of the relics of the saint took place in 1087 with a big party in which the religious celebrations alternate numerous cultural initiatives.

Striking the historical procession on the evening of May 7: composed of over 500 actors in period costume, parading through the streets in the wake of the "caravel" bearing the image of the saint - arrived just before by sea from the port of San Giorgio - to finally reach the Basilica of San Nicola, from the sound of bells. Feature also the sea procession of 8 May, during which the statue of St. Nicholas is carried off by a trawler randomly drawn and accompanied by sparse, by a festive procession of boats
