Pieces of Greek is a hamlet of about 6,000 inhabitants of the town of Fasano, in the province of Brindisi. Located in a strategic location, given its proximity to the sea, the Itria Valley and the Land of Bari, owes its fame mainly to the magnificent Living Nativity that for 26 years brings together almost all citizens to relive the emotions and traditions of times past in a breathtaking location, the blade Trappeto.
The foundation of this town is due to the good hard work of some farmers come mainly from Fasano but also from Cisternino, to cultivate and improve these soils around the year 1823. At that time a farm included most of the current territory of Pieces of Greek and belonged to the Greek family, whose family was originally from Martina Franca. The farm Greek was a large area of land without trees, only used for the cultivation of wheat, barley, corn and legumes: why were vulgarly called "patches", to plot. This, combined with the owner's name, formed the current name of the country, Pieces of Greek. At the behest of Mr. Greek, he wanted to improve the area, the land was divided into lots and sold rented to the settlers. Subsequently some farmers felt the need to settle in their land and farms were built then Trulli. The Greek family ceased to exist for lack of male heirs.
