Mini-guida della Puglia: le chicche da non perdere

A place not to be missed during a trip to Puglia Punta Meliso in Santa Maria di Leuca, where stands the Marian Shrine 'De finibus terrae'. In the square rise the two main monuments symbol of the place. One religious, on a high column, with the lady who watches over pilgrims and tourists. The other, secular, which monitors and indicates the coast to naviganti.Questo exciting and romantic place is completely turned towards the south, toward the south and the light (hence the name leucos which in greek means light), and many are convinced that here there is the division of the Ionian Sea from the Adriatic Sea. This charming spot opens on a vast sea and blinding. On the side of the square, to the old port is then the staircase with two flights of monumental waterfall, each with 300 steps, built during the fascist period to celebrate the completion of the Puglia Aqueduct.

Le Maldive del Salento:

I turned the Salento far and wide, but what strikes me enthusiastically whenever I visit him, is undoubtedly the stretch of coast known as the Maldives of Salento, in the marina of Pescoluse.

A beach of enchanting beauty with bathing, with long stretches of golden sand, protected by high dunes and framed by a succession of reeds and acacias - a natural vegetation that separates it from the rest of the world!

The sea, crystal clear, boasts long stretches of shallow water near the shore, which favor the bathing of children. An ideal place for those who go on vacation with the whole family. A beach with umbrellas, deck chairs and bar service guarantees a holiday of relaxation and comfort.

La spiaggia di Punta Prosciutto:

I was born in Salento and my beach has always been to Torre Lapillo, a white beach, and with the usual fine crystalline water. Just became a little older and I started taking the license to turn the area as do all: car and tent, to discover beaches and coves one more beautiful than the others. My top 5 of the beaches is this: Baia dei Turchi (Otranto), Torre Lapillo (Porto Cesareo), Torre San Giovanni (Ugento), Pescoluse (Salve), Torre Dell'Orso (Melendugno). But there is one that goes beyond these, at least for me: the beach of Punta Prosciutto.
It 's my favorite, by far. It 'a beach indefinable than the other, is the wildest doubt. Already the area itself is wild, behind you have the forest Arneo and you are in the middle of an area of Mediterranean mixed with wetlands with reeds and some house immersed in the green and yellow vegetation summer. Already lose a little 'contact with the classic marine area full of tourist facilities, restaurants, bars. None of this, but a few miles of beach with beach clubs, some old-style supermarket, a few bars.
Immerse yourself in one of the streets leading to the sea, where you can park your car and dirigetivi towards the sea. Before reaching it, in some cases, have to overcome high sand dunes up to eight meters, it is still a thrill for me to see the sea from the top of the dune, smell the scents of the vegetation so wild. The beach is more impressive than the other beaches of Salento, when you are on the sand just you in the dunes and the sea. The latter is as always in these parts: crystal clear. When there is a lake north wind becomes transparent, warm and especially with less people than the other most popular beaches. It 'a destination still little consciuta, in my opinion, I recommend it highly.
