ALIMINI: IL "MIRACOLO" DEI LAGHI TRA PINI E ORCHIDEE

The name of the Lakes Alimini derives from the ancient greek Limne (lake, pond) to confirm how much of the Ellas has had in those regions. Alimini Great is salty, the Piccolo is sweet which says a lot about the ability of nature to impress. Alimini Grande is the son of Neptune was, in fact, the slow and steady erosion of the sea to generate this basin from the rocky shores along some 2,500 meters deep and 4. In addition to the sea feed it some sources the most abundant of which is the Zudrea Marsh Traguano. They are, instead, pools of fresh water gushing from the ground water of the Rio Grande channel in Serra Montevergine to replenish Small Alimini, also called Fontanelle, less wide than the cufflinks and also much lower. Among the aquatic vegetation of the lakes also some rare species: marsh orchids, water chestnuts, bladderwort, carnivorous devouring insects. Much of the lakes, particularly the Great, is the domain of the Aleppo pine, acacia, olive, laurel, arbutus, mastic, myrtle in an intrigue of logs, branches, brambles and perfumes. Hunting is prohibited and so the lakes are frequented by migratory birds. In certain seasons herons are so intrusive as to form dense condominiums in garzaie trees.
