Bear Tower is a seaside village of Marina di Melendugno, one of the most popular destinations for summer holidays in Puglia. In fact this fraction, almost uninhabited during the winter, during the summer season sees a true "renaissance", with thousands of tourists who rent villas and holiday homes in Bear Tower. The reason for this turnout is due no doubt to the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea and the long sandy beaches, ideal for family holidays in Salento. Due to these characteristics, the coast of Bear Tower has received several times the "Blue Flag" recognition of international fame that honors the best beach resorts in the world.

This area takes its name from a watchtower located above the sea. Another symbol of the city are the two small stacks in the waters of the Bay of Bear Tower, called the "Two Sisters": legend has it that two sisters, to refresh from the daily works, dived into the water but were unable to reach the shore. The gods, moved with compassion, transformed them into two stacks.
The area is also popular youth tourism, thanks to the many locals who inhabit the coast of Salento.
